The Verge is one of those few places in Karachi that actually have a spacious and well-kept indoor dining situation. A lot of the places that have opened recently are modelled around takeaway and delivery and tend to be “waiting-room-at-the-dentist” sized. It usually works unless you are looking to dine out comfortably. This is where The Verge comes in and of course, what they offer in their menu. Here are all the things we recommend you order at The Verge.
What do I order at The Verge?
1. The Classic Cheeseburger
Everybody is probably bored of hearing this at this point but this is the best burger that you can have in Karachi. The sharp mustard kick (may take some getting used to for those who are not accustomed) complements the beefiness of the burger just right. This is not your overly saucy, topped with nachos and onion rings kinda affair. It has what is needed in a burger and it gets that right.
2. Smashed Potatoes
This is how you do a potato appetiser justice. Sure, loaded fries are great and they have “Lobster Fries” in their menu as well but these smashed potatoes topped with dill and walnuts on a bed of sour cream are beautiful and not something you’d find anywhere else.
3. Mac N Cheese
Their “Adult Mac N Cheese” is how I came to appreciate The Verge, even though it’s not my favourite thing on the menu anymore. It’s a great mac n cheese but it gets a bit monotonous after a few.
Still, not a bad take on the dish.
4. Cinnamon Rolls & Gooey Brownies
The desserts at The Verge are seriously under-rated. This cinnamon roll and their gooey brownies are amazing and pair well with their coffee.
5. Specialty Coffee
They have an entire specialty coffee menu (given below). It’s actually a great place for coffee if you are looking for a place to also sit down at and have desserts alongside.
My usual coffee order here is an Iced Spanish Latte.
